Presentation evening was great as usual. Thank you to Germaine for organizing it again and a big thank you to Phoenix for allowing us to use their venue. It was a real hard choice this year and even the votes from the families and players were very, very close. Well done to all of you. Well deserved.

It was good to see the sponsors there again. Stan from Apollo Colours Ltd and Tom and Lincoln from Direct Link. I hope we made them feel welcome. Also Bill from Euromaster. Unfortunately, Claire couldn’t make it this year, but we wish her well and look forward to seeing her at the next one. We would also like to thank Bill and Claire for their generous donation for the sponsorship again this year. As always we are so grateful and we really do appreciate it. Thank you!

We hope everyone enjoyed the evening. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your gifts and for your help and support and understanding throughout the year.

Excellent News. We are very privileged to have been invited to compete in a tournament at the David Beckham Academy. It will start on the 13th July and continue on through the summer up until the 31st August. There will be more details regarding the fixtures for this tournament on the fixture page.

Presentation Evening has been arranged for the 11th July at the Phoenix Sports Club. Starts at 7.00pm.

Direct Link have done it again! They have made a generous donation for sponsorship. Thank you so much to Tom and Lincoln. Your help really is appreciated.

Just finished the 07/08 season and we ended it at 9th. Well done to Phoenix Pumas for finishing top. It was a real close race between the top 3.

With the new season approaching we will be looking forward to playing 11-a-side in September. We will be partaking in some friendlys to get us use to the pitch and goal size and the dreaded off side rule???? We have had quite a bit of interest from the “players wanted” page and have already started training with a few new recruits. We hope that we have made them feel welcome in our Apollo style and that they will enjoy being members. Please remember to get your voting cards back to us as soon as possible so that trophies can be organized. We will keep you informed of the date for the presentation evening.

There are big changes this year in the standards that the FA expect us to achieve. One of them is to appoint a child welfare officer. We would like to say well done and a big thank you to Germaine Parker who has kindly stepped up to take the role on for Apollo. She attended the CWO course this week. Child protection and child welfare is paramount. Please take the time to read our child protection policy, code of conducts and “Keep It Shut” policy. They can all be found on the web site using the menu on the left hand side. These are all guidelines set out by the FA. Germaine’s contact details are on the child protection page and also on the contact us page of the web site. We really encourage all our parents and carers to attend the child protection best practice work shop. It really is an eye opener and I think it would set us in good stead for good practice for the coming season. If any members would like to attend the next workshop which is held at the Marathon Ground, or any other courses please do not hesitate to contact Kay for more details. Of course the club will pay the course fees.
